Urology Austin is excited to welcome Dr. John Sigalos. Dr. Sigalos grew up in Georgia. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he received his undergraduate degree. For medical school, he attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he was recognized for his compassion approach to patient care as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. From there he completed his residency and internship in UCLA’s Department of Urology which is consistently regarded as a top urology training program in the nation.
His decision to become a doctor was influenced by his experience with serious medical illness in his immediate family. He saw first-hand the impact that a doctor could make, not only on the patient, but the whole family. He has aspired to be able to care for patients and make that kind of a lasting impact. After starting medical school, he soon knew that he wanted to be a surgeon. He enjoyed having concrete answers and solutions to problems. At the same time, he enjoyed the opportunity in urology to create lasting, long-term relationships with many of the patients. He also values the urologist’s role in helping to improve a patient’s quality of life. Supporting people in optimizing their health and wellness is something that he finds very rewarding.
“I try to be the doctor that I would want for myself and my family. I want people to feel comfortable sharing intimate details so that we can address all their needs. I want people to know that I care about their quality of life and helping to make it better.”
Dr. Sigalos specializes in all aspects of men’s health including urinary health, men’s sexual health and the treatment of various kidney conditions and cancer. He has published more than twenty papers on Urologic topics and has been recognized for his treatment expertise in Peyronie’s Disease.
Dr. Sigalos will see patients in Round Rock #1, Westlake and Medical Park Towers Office until our new office at the Atrium opens this fall. Then, he will see patients in that new location.
