Last week the “West Austin News” ran a front page story on Urology Austin’s Dash for Dad 5K benefitting prostate cancer at Camp Mabry on October 27th. The report highlights the survival stories of Texas Music Hall of Famer Van Wilks, and local West Austin attorney, Larry Laden. Both men are strong proponents for the early detection of prostate cacner and both credit their survival to regualr PSA screenings. The importance of early detection of prostate cancer is underscored by Urology Austin physician, Dr. Jeff Kocurek. Dr. Kocurek urges all men 40+ to talk with their doctor about their prostate health, their family history of prostate cacner, and other risk factors to determine if a PSA test is right for him.
